ELECTRIC QUAD ISSUES (GO BOWEN)

Postby kevinmanuel » Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:30 am

HI

I have a 24v Go Bowen Mars electric quad that i bought from someone on craigslist. It appears they modified and stripped all the good features out (reverse, governor, on/off switch, throttle, charger). The way i have to charge is disconnect from wires from battery and then connect the charger. The guy recommended i get a 1amp charger and charge the batteries separately for a better longer lasting charge.Anyways the way the quad runs now is only by pressing on the safety foot switch. And now the safety foot switch never turns off when released so it just stays on. So as soon as i connect the battery again it sparks and the tires just fly! That was fun chasing it the first time i experienced this. So my question is did i mess something up with the wiring? I took apart the foot pedal (MDFS 111) and doesn't seem to be sticking at all yet the tires remain constantly on. Anybody have any experience with Go Bowen since the Internet is void of any parts and/or manuals? Can i just throw a razor throttle on this and get rid of the pedal?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

I would check the contacts on the foot pedal and make sure none of them are touching, check your wiring also to make sure they are not touching somewhere.
